CS Matiang’i affirms Govt development agenda in Counties

Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i says the National Government remains committed to partner with County administrations in achieving the Country’s development agenda.

Matiang’i who was speaking during a meeting with leaders drawn from Murang’a County said the Government has also put in place adequate measures to ensure budgetary allocation for development across the counties are properly utilized.

The National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee met leaders from Murang’a County Friday to discuss how to steer development in the region.

Matiang’i, who chairs the committee pledged the government’s commitment to partner with County Governments to implement President Uhuru Kenyatta’s development agenda.

Matiangi, who was accompanied by Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Education CS Prof George Magoha, Transport CS James Macharia, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe and his Agriculture counterpart Peter Munya reiterated that the forum provided a chance to discuss a working formula for implementing key projects across several sectors in Murang’a County.

Murang’a County leaders led by Governor Mwangi wa Iria and Senator Irungu Kang’ata hailed the move saying it will help transform the fortunes of the residents of the County.
