The island of Krakoa has recently become a haven for the X-Men and the entire mutant world community, but a mysterious secret Cyclops is hiding from Professor X could ruin everything. We still don’t know what that secret would be, but in the magazine X-Men No. 4, released this month in the US, A Dream shows readers the heavy consequences it can bring.

Attention: spoilers to follow!

In the magazine, with a screenplay by Gerry Dugan and drawings by Javier Pina, an enemy of Doctor Strange, Nightmare, faces the mutant group. As the villain walks through the team’s new headquarters in Central Park, he causes disturbed dreams during the heroes’ sleep.

In the case of Cyclops, we see Scott Summers being killed by Sentinels; giving up on her son, Cable; and having relationship issues with Jean Gray and Emma Frost. So far, everything seems familiar to readers for referring to events that happened to him. But also Krakoa appears burning because of a lie Cyclops told Professor X and Magneto.

This dream ends with the X-Men’s headquarters on fire, and Cyclops is seen in a coffin with a plaque around his neck that says, “Cyclops was wrong.”

The issue continues with the villain Nightmare being defeated by Jean Grey. But nothing more is said about Scott’s supposed secret to his guardian and fellow mutants. It’s worth remembering that Cyclops and Charles Xavier haven’t been on the same page lately: while Professor X is now only interested in building the mutated nation of Krakoa, Summers still feels a duty to help the rest of the world, a mission he’s always learned from Xavier .
