Deaths Confirmed Following Crash of Military Chopper in Kajiado – LitKenya

All the occupants of the ill-fated military helicopter have been accounted for, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has revealed.

The chopper crash-landed this morning at Ol Tepesi area in Ngong, Kajiado County.

In a statement, KDF spokesperson Colonel Zipporah Kioko confirmed that several officers died.

However, she did not disclose the number or their names due to sensitivity of the matter.

“Following the crash, we suffered fatalities. The process of communicating with the families to relay the information and KDF condolences are underway,” she said.

Some of the victims sustained injuries and have been evacuated to safety.

“The injured were airlifted and are at the Defence Forces Memorial Hospital, Nairobi. The entire KDF fraternity wishes them quick recovery,” Kioko said.

Further, investigations have been launched to establish the cause of the crash.

“Aircraft accident investigations are at the crash site to establish the cause of the accident.

“The entire KDF thanks the locals and all the first respondents for their assistance during the rescue efforts.”
