An engineer illegally deployed to the graft scarred National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority is among three names forwarded for appointment as managing Director

Engineer Sammy Mburu an employee of Lake Victoria Water Services Agency was deployed at the agency to serve as the acting MD.

However, he is neither an employee of National Water or the Ministry. Meaning that he has been signing contracts illegally.

It is not clear why the board, led by David Nkadayo has allowed the illegality to happen.

Sources told Weekly  Citizen that the board is been coerced by a powerful individual to appoint Mburu despite performing dismally at the interview.

It is instructive to note that Mburu is a relative of the Water PS Joseph Irungu.

Irungu was praised by politicians during the burial of the Mother of Peter Kenneth for favoring Muranga County in water projects

However, he is neither an employee of National Water or the Ministry. Meaning that he has been signing contracts illegally. Last month he signed the multimillion Narok Dam, Migori Dam, River Kuja projects akin to the Alor and Kimwarer projects.

Mburu also signed a medical cover project with Trident Insurance Company despite a cheaper and effective offer from National Hospital Insurance Fund.

Among the other names forwarded are Engineer Tom Odongo, Engineer Andrew Wanyonyi and John Nyambu Malombe.

Wanyonyi was the PA to the Devolution CS  Eugene Wamalwa and wields a lot of power in the Water Corridors.
