Donald B Kipkorir Places Ksh3 Million Bet on Ruto-Raila Presidency

Flamboyant city lawyer Donald B Kipkorir and his colleague Ahmednassir Abdullahi have yet again failed to agree on who between Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila will succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kipkorir maintained that the former Prime Minister will emerge victorious while Ahmednassir insisted that Dr. Ruto will carry the day.

To end the debate, the two counsels decided to place a bet.

Should the DP win, Kipkorir will part with Ksh3 million. Likewise, a victory for Raila means Ahmednassir will surrender the same amount.

“Today, we held our BFF Karen Conference .. Myself, @makaumutua @ahmednasirlaw .. We discussed all issues about 2022 Presidential Elections … I bet with Ahmednasir Kshs.3m on whether Baba or Alibaba will win the Presidency … Whoever loses pays the winner. AA can’t escape,” Kipkorir said in a tweet.

Earlier in the day, Kipkorir, Ahmednassir and US-based law professor Makau Mutua met for a cup of tea.

The three are best friends although they never agree politically. Kipkorir and Mutua are diehard supporters of Raila while Ahmednassir is loyal to the second in command.

Unlike most Kenyans, however, the trio engages in mature debates and disagree without the usual name-calling.

Last week, Kipkorir graced the Azimio la Umoja national convention at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi where Raila announced his presidential bid. It was his first time to attend a political meeting.

“I chose to attend my first political function to be a witness to Raila Odinga commence his journey to State House. I have never been more confident. More peaceful. Raila Odinga will break the last ceiling that has weighed Kenya down in Tribalism, Nepotism & Corruption,” he said.
