Deputy President William Ruto and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi left the country Sunday morning for the United States and United Kingdom tour.

During his ten-day visit, the DP is expected to share his thoughts on foreign policy, democracy and governance, and expound his economic vision for Kenya and Africa.

Ruto’s Presidential Campaign Head of International Relations Ababu Namwamba had earlier stated that the DP was honouring invites by senior government officials and top policy institutes in Washington, DC and London.

In Washington, DC the Deputy President is scheduled to meet among others officials of the State Department and the Pentagon as well as the US Government National Security Council (NSC) Advisor.

He will also speak at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and at the University of Arizona’s Washington Entrepreneurship Hub.

Namwamba further stated that the USA leg of the strip will conclude with a meeting with the Kenyan Diaspora.

In London, the DP will meet senior UK Government officials, visit the National Counter-Terrorism Center and speak at both the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House).

He will also engage the Kenyan Diaspora in the UK, AND PAY a courtesy call on the Archbishop of Canterbury, His Grace Justin Welby.

“Kenya remains a stable regional anchor state and a valued member of the global community and the Deputy President’s trip seeks to further strengthen ties with the country’s traditional friends and partners,” said Namwamba.

The head of the Presidential campaign secretariat Governor Josephat Nanok was with him at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Nanok revealed that he will be part of the DP’s tour.

Also present was Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya.

For the Kenya Kwanza Alliance principal Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, he will address Kenyans in the diaspora and elucidate his economic blueprint, “Uchumi Bora, Pesa Mfukoni”, and explain how it will resuscitate Kenya’s slumping economic fortunes after the forthcoming polls.

Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja is in London to prepare the ground for Deputy President William visit.

He left the country last week on Thursday.
