Deputy President William Ruto has visited controversial blogger, Dennis Itumbi who is recuperating at a city hospital.

Ruto was with Itumbi on Tuesday, December 28, and after a close assessment of his injuries, he conjectured that the kidnappers had the intentions of killing Itumbi.

“Spent time with Comrade DI (Dennis Itumbi) last evening, saw his heavily bandaged arm and legs, the result of torture by people who should have been there to protect him and us all.”

“They have now turned violent and fatalistic after all the negative narratives, threats, and blackmail against us failed,” he said.

The sentiments by the DP seem to marry that of the UDA allied lawmakers, who had accused the state of using the police to carry out abductions, leaving the family of the victims fighting trepidations.

Commenting on the current state of health of the blogger, the DP stated that he is coping well with medication though the reports by doctors indicate that he still needs close monitoring for a month.

“Like Dennis, we all must be strong knowing that in a few months we will defeat impunity, entitlement, kaburi na madharau (pride and despise) and free our nation for good.”

Itumbi is famous for attacking senior government officials and was abducted by unknown assailants while at a barbershop in Thindigua, Kiambu County.

Itumbi revealed that they attacked him using a hammer, breaking his limbs before leaving him for the dead at Kasarani, Nairobi.

Luckily, he was found by a taxi driver who rescued and ferried him to Uhai Neema Hospital for emergency first aid.

The police have denied their involvement in the abductions and are waiting for Itumbi to recover before he records a statement.
