Deputy President William Ruto is reportedly out of the country.
In the last two days, the second has been missing in action during the Kenya Kwanza alliance rallies.
Though campaign posters had indicated that Dr. Ruto would join his co-principals, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya’s Moses Wetangula, in Westlands, Nairobi, yesterday, he did not show up.
This caused speculations on social media, with critics and supporters expressing mixed reactions.
However, there was an update on his social media platforms after Mudavadi and Wetangula led Kwenya Kwanza troops in different parts of Nairobi.
“Hustlers wake up early, toil the whole day and return home late. They are the key movers of the economy. We must therefore empower them to reap a fair share of their sweat and make them true stakeholders in this nation.
“Continued our Uchumi Kwanza agenda in Westlands Constituency, Nairobi County – City Park, Githogoro, Mwimuto, Uthiru and Kangemi markets,” his social media admin wrote.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that he the DP secretly = flew to Dubai on Monday.
However, it has not been revealed why he jetted to the Middle East Country.
Some sources say he went to meet Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, who is being treated at one of the big hospitals in Dubai, while other claim he is there for classified reasons.
Towards the end of last year, Kuria started warming to ODM leader Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja, only to make an about-turn late last month.
The Gatundu South lawmaker had launched scathing attacks against the DP, at one point alluding that the second in command has a role in the Kiambaa church massacre during the 2007-08 post-election violence (PEV).
