There was drama at the office of Deputy President William Ruto in Nairobi earlier today after a man caused a scene at one of the gates.

Lawrence Amuke Oprong, the son of former Cabinet Minister and Busia North MP Fredrick Oduya, insisted that he wanted an audience with the second in command.

Oprong, who raided the Harambee Annex offices, claimed that the DP promised him a job during the burial of his father in 2019.
However, he says Dr. Ruto is yet to fulfill the pledge.

The young man said he has been jobless and that’s why he was seeking the DP’s attention.

He went ahead to chain himself in the gate grills.

Police tried to remove him from the gate, but it proved futile.

More officers were called where they cut the chains using a hacksaw.

He was taken to Central Police Station and will be charged with causing a disturbance in a public place.

DP Ruto’s Director of Communication Emmanuel Talam said the matter raised by OProng will be looked into.
