World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge on Thursday, 9th September unveiled his foundation named ‘The Eliud Kipchoge Foundation’.
While launching his foundation he stated that his mission is to give all children in the world access to knowledge and education and as well championing for environmental conservation.
I’m very grateful to launch my Eliud Kipchoge Foundation today. My mission is to give all children in the world access to knowledge and education. I want those children to grow up into healthy adults in a green and breathing world where forests keep our people safe,” Kipchoge said in a tweet.
“I hope to contribute and grow the movement in education and environmental protection through my Foundation, to reach the people in the world with my voice.”
Through the foundation, Kipchoge said that he will raise awareness and finances to build libraries, schools, forests.
The objective of the foundation in environmental conservation is to keep forests, to plant trees, to make full use of farms by planting trees and produce good fruit and vegetables.
The foundation also aims at making running become a lifestyle for as many people as possible.
Kipchoge now joins other Kenyan sportsmen and women who are running different foundations to help needy people in society.
Harambee Stars midfielder Victor Wanyama through his foundation is giving scholarships to secondary school students.
