Ex-Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu Involved in Horrific Road Accident

Former Mwingi Central Member of Parliament, Joe Mutambu was invoved in a grisly road accident on the Thika-Mwingi highway in Kavenge on Sunday night, 5th December.

According to reports, Mutambu’s driver, Jethro Kyalo died on the spot in the 11 pm crash that involved a tractor.

The lawmaker’s vehicle is said to have rolled several times after colliding with a tractor.

Mutambu and three other passengers on board sustained injuries and were rushed to Matuu Level Four hospital while the drivers body was taken to Mwingi Level Four hospital morgue.

Mutambu and the team were returning to Nairobi from Mwingi where the St. Joseph’s Seminary Mwingi bus had plunged into the Enziu River killing at least 32 people on Saturday, 4th December.

Mutambu who lost some of his relatives in the bus tragedy had visited the accident scene on Sunday, 5th December alongside Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and other leaders to access the situation.

The submerged bus was pulled out of River Enziu last evening.
