Vincent Waruhiu should be sitting and preparing for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
However, the student of Kianyaga Boys High School can’t be traced.
According to education activist Ndungu Nyoro, Wahuhiu disappeared from the institution on Saturday under unclear circumstances.
The school called that father later that night but did not have answers as to why his son was sneaked out.
On Monday, the father traveled to the school to get more information about the whereabouts of the candidate.
The management told him that it did not have any clues about the saga except that the student has disappeared.
Appallingly, the school did not report the incident to the police.
“When going home, the father thought of reporting the matter at the nearby Kianyaga police station. The officers were surprised that the school did not report such a serious matter,” Nyoro said.
The father narrated that the boy had two weeks earlier called his mother and requested for prayers. He disclosed that he was going through some form of bullying and feared for his life.
“He told his mother he had serious stomach pains for about a week. This was occasioned by a piece of cake he had been forced to eat by a group of boys. He was fearing they could be out to harm him.
“He had even raised the issue with his teacher and asked to be moved to another stream because he feared a group of classmates.”
His best friend said Waruhiu left his bed at night complaining of severe stomachache and that was the last time he was seen in the school.
