Former Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri has declared his interest in the upcoming 2022 General Elections and has said that he will be eyeing Laikipia East parliamentary seat.

The Service Party (TSP) party leader was the Laikipia lawmaker from 1997 to 2012. He says that the constituents should vote for him to see the completion of several stalled projects in the Constituency.

Among the stuck projects include the 10 km road connecting Mirera, Naromoru, and Lamuria, which he says was removed from state projects and allocated to Laikipia County, thus affecting its completion.

“When I resume office in August, I will ensure these roads are completed because the county has no capacity to complete them,” Kiunjuri said.

He boasts a good working record as a former CS crediting the Nyamaguna water project, for which he allocated Ksh217 million, Mutaro water project (Ksh96 million), and Solio water project (Ksh70 million).

The outspoken politician further asked the locals to vote for aspirants vying on his TSP party, explaining that when he gets a significant number of TSP parliamentarians in the National Assembly, he would get bargaining power of demanding development projects for his constituents.

He was speaking at Matanya grounds in Tigithi ward during a football tournament sponsored by TSP. He asserted that he will get not less than 20 MPs and senators elected under his party.

Kiunjuri did not disclose whether he will partner with Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja or Deputy President of Hustler Nation’s UDA party.
