Former Changamwe Member of Parliament Ramadhan Seif Kajembe has been laid to rest in Kwa Shehe, Jomvu.

The former legislator was buried at his family cemetery under strict COVID-19 burial protocols.

Kajembe 76, died on Friday at Pandya Memorial Hospital where he has been receiving treatment for the last two weeks.

He lost his first wife Aziza Kajembe on July 24, 2020, barely four months after losing his second wife Zaharia.

Coast Regional Commissioner John Elungata who represented President at the burial and read his speech, described Kajembe as a charismatic leader who had a vision for developments, a towering role model and a perfect example of servant leadership who should be emulated by many.

There was a heavy police presence at his homestead to control the crowds who had mulled around his homestead to pay their last respects.

Health officers from the County Health Department were present as the Ministry of Health regulations during this COVID-19 pandemic was highly observed.

He served as Changamwe MP from 2007 to 2013 on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket and later ran for Mombasa Senatorial seat in March 4, 2013, General Election but lost to former Senator Hassan Omar Sarai.
