Former Samburu Senator Sammy Prisa Leshore has replaced former Jubilee nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura.

This follows a gazzette notice dated 11th May.

Mwaura’s name was deleted from the list of members nominated to represent people living with disabilities.

” The deleted Nominee stands disqualified as the member of to the Senate representing persons with disabilities,” read the Gazette Notice.

Leshore will now be the representative of people living with disabilities in the Senate.

The Gazzette Notice was issued on the very day a High Court issued an injunction blocking the implementation of Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka’s Gazzette Notice declaring Mwaura’s seat vacant.

Justice Joseph Sergon gave interim orders stopping Speaker Lusaka from acting on the decision made by the Political Parties Dispute Tribunal which upheld the verdict of the ruling Jubilee Party to expel the embattled legislator on grounds of indiscipline.

“Pending the interpartes hearing of the motion dated May 11, 2021, an order for stay of further implementation of the Gazette Notice number 4597 Vol CXX11-102 dated and issued on May 10, 2021,” Justice Sergon ruled barring Lusaka from declaring Mwaura’s seat vacant.

Senator Mwaura took to his social media handles on Tuesday evening to celebrate the High Court order and thanked God that his alleged unprocedural removal had been suspended.

” There is a GOD in heaven. Those who wait upon HIM, are never put to shame as I have been granted an injunction. I respect all Govt leaders, and I will maintain political decorum at all times. All praises to the almighty GOD,” he tweeted.
