The trio announced the tour last year including countries in West Africa.
The Fugees, trio made up of Ms Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel, have announced the cancellation of their reunion tour which was supposed to include countries like Ghana and Nigeria owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The trio first announced their tour in September of last year in honour of the 25th anniversary of their album The Score.
“The continued Covid pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe. An idea sparked to honour and celebrate this 25th anniversary of The Score but we see now it may not currently be our time for revisiting this past work,” the statement released by the trio read in part. The group had initially planned to tour between November and December 2021 and pushed the date back to 2022. Ms Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel ended up playing just one reunion show before finally announcing the tour’s cancellation.
