A group of people claiming to be men of God have gone to the bush to pray for Deputy President William Ruto.

The seven men were captured kneeling in the bush and asking God to save the DP.

They claim that the second in command has so many enemies and only the Lord can save him.

The ‘prayer warriors’ also said they are pleading with God to help the country’s number succeed his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Some of them were don in sacks and smothered their bodies with ash.

They noted that they will forgo food and water until their unspecified prayer timeline is over.

In front of them were several pieces of stones and a photo of William Ruto.

It was not clear who took their pictures while in the anonymous bush and shared them online.

In the Bible, it is recorded that those who are fasting should do it so privately that no one is to notice.

Some Kenyans argued that the men were just religious con men, courting controversy.

Others said they looked like they were just acting for the camera and probably after that they would go back to their homes.

A social media user by the name of Nancy Franklin said she believes that they were attention seekers targeting the DP so that he can give them money.

For his part, Martin Mwangi, a netizen on Facebook stated that “instead of praying for peace in our nation they are going to the bush just because of one person.”

Muugi Njata said: “A very foolish endeavor by clueless voting robots glorifying poverty and plunder gospel of DP Ruto.”
