‘God Save Us From Ufisadi Daima Alliance (UDA),’ Muslim Cleric Prays

A Muslim cleric has sparked a divisive conversation among Kenyans after making a controversial prayer during the Azimio la Umoja national convention.

In his prayer convened by ODM leader Raila Odinga, Sheikh Juma Ngao did not have kind words to Deputy President William Ruto and his brigade.

He referred to the DP’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as Ufisadi Daima Alliance or rather a corruption enterprise.

Ngao asked God to save Kenya from “Ufisadi Daima Alliance”, mentioning that its members have a dirty past.

“We pray to you Allah that don’t give leadership to Ufisadi Daima Alliance. Don’t allow politicians allied to Ufisadi Daima Alliance to ascend to power.

“They are corrupt, killers and even burning churches. Kenya will not be in safe hands under them. Bless Raila Odinga, bless Kenya,” he prayed.

Some Kenyans were angry with the prayers while others did not not see anything wrong with the wording.

Gabriel Oguda: “William Ruto has been calling Luos vile names in all his political rallies but when Sheikh Juma Ngao asks God to save us from those burning people in churches you suddenly want to pretend that you care for foul language? Pretenders are worse than murderers.”

Mohamed Tacha Dida: “Shame on the Sheikh leading prayer in Azimio Convention. His reference to UDA as UFISADI DAIMA ALLIANCE has stripped the Azimio & Raila Odinga of all legitimacy, dignity & reverence. Such prayers are unislamic, ungodly & tantamount to hate speech. God answer not hate prayers.”

Naya Biggie: “Sheikh Juma Ngao pulled the bull by its horn, Ruto’s UDA is Ufisadi Daima Alliance..we want frank leaders who put things as they are without sugar coating. He is my Man of the Match in Kasarani today.”

Senator Samson Cherargei: “Sheikh Ngao Muslim prayer at Azimio La mawe is ungodly, hypocritical, pretentious and unreligious: The real intention of handshake has been to position Raila for 2022 Presidential succession.”

Dennis Nyambane: “Atwoli once said that Ufisadi Daima Alliance Party Boss Will never be President. It’s true. Sheikh just confirmed.”
