A popular youthful disc jockey has passed away, with sources revealing that he took his own life.

Litkenya.com has gathered that DJ Rema 254 committed suicide over hardships.

Announcing the death of the entertainer, benga artiste Eddie Gathenge suggested that the DJ was depressed and ended up killing himself.

Gathenge asked God to remember his people before they get to a point of committing suicide.

A quick check by this publication has established that DJ Rema last updated his social media profiles on 12th August.

At the time, he was asking his fans to catch up with him on Citizen TV where he was to play reggae music on One Love show, which airs every Saturday.

“When you can control what is happening, challenge yourself to control the way you are responding to what is happening where power is. I will be serving you the best of the dancehall music,” he wrote on Facebook.

Although he did not have a permanent TV or radio job, he would appear on various shows as a guest DJ.

Celebrities and his fans have taken to social media to mourn the DJ.

Many said they were yet to come to terms with the devastating news.

“I’m lost for words. What do I even say? It is not easy to type ‘Rest In Peace. Go well son,” Inooro FM presenter Nyoxx Wa Katta said.

Guitar Mpya, an up-and-coming musician, thanked the entertainer for being the first DJ to play his songs.

Former radio presenter Munyeki Sonko wrote: “This is sad news… stress and depression killing our youth. Rest in peace DJ Rema.”
