The government has embarked on a multi-billion shillings aquaculture project targeting arid and semi-arid areas. The projects will be undertaken in collaboration with the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. The institute has already set up a fingerling breeding center in Kilifi which will help supply farmers with fingerlings.
