The national soccer team Harambee Stars has climbed two places up in the latest Fifa rankings released on Thursday, 16th September.

From the last rankings posted in August, Stars moved from position 104 to 102 after recording two consecutive draws against Uganda and Rwanda in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

Kenya played two games in which they managed a 0-0 draw against Uganda Cranes at Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi before playing to a 1-1 draw against Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars at the Stade de Kigali.

The rankings come only a day after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) parted ways with the national team head coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee on mutual consent.

In the East African region, Kenya is the second highest ranked after Uganda who are in position 86. Rwanda comes third in potion 128, Tanzania fourth at 132 while Ethiopia closes the top five at position 134.

Senegal remain the top-ranked team in Africa, followed by Tunisia, Algeria Morocco and Nigeria who are in position 20, 25, 30,33, and 34 respectively.

Meanwhile, Belgium remain top of the world followed by Brazil, England, France and Italy.
