National Assembly Majority Leader Amos Kimunya and immediate former Water Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki have experienced a rude shock after their message was rejected by the locals.

Residents walked out of their meeting after they started marketing ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The people left their seats and stormed out, saying that they did not want to hear anything to do with the opposition leader.

“Don’t sell Raila here, we are not buying him,” a resident said.

Kariuki could be heard pleading with the dwellers not to leave.

“Why are you going away? We know you came here because you love. How can you walk out knowing too well that President Uhuru Kenyatta sent Kimunya?” she posed.

However, that did not stop the people from going home.
The leaders had to address a handful of people who stayed behind.

The former Minister resigned earlier this month to contest for the Nyandarua gubernatorial seat.

She has made clear that she will use a party affiliated with Raila’s Azimio la Umoja movement.

“After I quit my government job, some people have approached me to join Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA), but I will be using Azimio,” she said last week.

President Kenyatta is tomorrow expected to hold a delegation of Mt Kenya leaders, opinion shapers, elders, and youth caucuses at the Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County.

According to Jubilee leaders, the Head of State will specify why his relationship with his deputy William Ruto soared since 2018.
Azimio leaders in the Mountain are hoping that the much-touted forum will pacify the ground for them.

However, confidants of the DP have dismissed the meeting, saying nothing will change, as residents decided a long time ago that the second in command is their choice.
