Kakamega Senator Clephas Malala and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna have joined hands in what many believe to be a new wave of leadership sweeping through the Mulembe Nation. The two leaders today convened an inaugural meeting of the Mulembe Youth Movement, an outfit bringing together youth from the region to pursue a common political agenda.
”Humbled this afternoon to have hosted a battery of youthful leaders both elected, nominated and appointed at my Milimani Residence in Kakamega town, Lurambi Constituency, in the inaugural Mulembe Youth Movement first ever meeting,” Malala wrote. With the creation of Mulembe Youth Movement, a new center of power that is likely to be more radical has been created in the region.
On his part, Secretary General Sifuna affirmed it was time the Mulembe Youth spoke for themselves.
”Nothing for us, in our name, without us. If those who ought to speak for all of us speak only for themselves, we the Youth of Mulembe will speak for ourselves! ” Sifuna charged.
Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi was dealt a major blow after the Registrar of Political Parties trashed the party’s move to oust Malala from the party. Registrar of Polical Parties boss Anne Nderitu, in a letter addressed to the ANC party leader said that party’s move to expel Malala did not follow due process.
“The disciplinary proceedings were not concluded within the stipulated timelines under Article 49 of the ANC Party Constitution.”
“The National Governing Council did not approve the disciplinary committee as reconstituted by the NEC in line with Article 46 (1) (d)(ii) of the ANC party Constitution.” Nderitu outlined.
Mudavadi’s led party threw Malala out of the political outfit for allegedly disobeying the party and the party leader through a special meeting of National Governing Council last month.
