I am not joining UDA, Jubilee is my home~Senator Kinyua – Weekly Citizen

UDA party was established by close mates of the deputy president after the situation got out of hand in the ruling Jubilee party. The deputy president, William Ruto, said publicly that UDA will be his political vehicle in his bid to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 in the event he is denied the Jubilee Party ticket. Several Tangatanga symphathizers have shown interest in running for political seats using the UDA party ticket. Some have been leading in members registration exercise to make the party more stronger and vibrant.

John Kinyua

Laikipia senator, John Kinyua, is one of the DP’s close allies who even visited the Hustlers center after UDA party was formed. Through his close association with Ruto, many people have been expecting that he will be among the leaders who will defend their seats on UDA tickets. The Senator has however said that although he was contemplating ditching the ruling party for the young UDA, he has changed his mind and decided to stay put in the ruling Party. Speaking at Inooro TV, Kinyua said that Jubilee is his home and he will not leave. “I had thought of moving out but I recounted the investment I have made in Jubilee party. Jubilee is my party and my home”, alluded the Laikipia senator. He however maintained that he will continue to engage with the deputy president. He was among the Mt Kenya leaders who converged at Maasai Maara to negotiate on the benefits that the region will get incase Ruto ascends to power in 2022.
