‘I Failed You My Loves’: Mother of Kids Found Dead in Nakuru Sadly Mourns Them

The mother of the two children who were allegedly murdered by their father in Nakuru last week has shared her pain with the world.

Taking to social media, Winnie Odhiambo regretted leaving her son Dylan Gakara, five, and three-year-old daughter, Karuana Gakara with her husband, Dr. James Gakara.

Accusing James of murdering the minors, Odhiambo wished she had foreseen the events that were to leave her childless.

“My heart is shattered; I failed to protect you my loves. The person you trusted the most betrayed you my darlings, I promise to fight for justice for you. Go well sweethearts,” she wrote.

Odhiambo spoke a day after she was discharged from the hospital where she had been admitted with a shock that came with the news that her children had been killed.

Although she promised to ensure the father is brought over the murder, that may never happen after he passed away this morning at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital.

He has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since last Saturday when he was found unconscious at his house in Milimani, Nakuru County. The bodies of the two minors were also in the same house.

Police suspected that he needled them with insulin after recovering used syringes and drugs.

On the day he allegedly committed the crime, he had taken the child for an outing and reportedly gave the house help a short leave.

What Happened? 

It has not been established why he may have eliminated his children, but sources intimated that he was bitter with his wife.

She was reportedly planning to move to the United States for further studies, something that did not sit well with the doctor, as he was to be left with the children.

The incident happened on the day Odhiambo had traveled to Nairobi to finalise everything before relocating next month.
