Roots Party Presidential aspirant Professor George Wajackoyah has been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission (IEBC).

Chairman Wafula Chebukati now says Prof Wajackoyah has acquired the minimum number of supporters required to contest in the general election.

IEBC had earlier rejected Prof Wajakoyah’s application after he failed to raise the required 2,000 signatures per County in at least 24 Counties.

Speaking shortly after the clearance process Prof Wajackoyah said he will now move to popularize his Presidential bid across the country.

Prof Wajackoyah who is a lawyer by profession clarified that he only intends to legalize bhang for medicinal and industrial use and not for smoking.

“Countries such as Zambia and Malawi have legalized bhang. Canada got 486B dollar from  growing bhang for medicinal use,” he stated
