IG Mutyambai Takes Action Against Drunk Officer Harassing Innocent Citizens in Viral Video

The Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has taken action against a drunk police officer seen in a viral video harassing members of the public in Laikipia County.

In a statement issued on Saturday night, 28th August Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso said that the IG has directed the Laikipia County Police Commander to take administrative action against the officer.

He noted that such irresponsible and criminal behaviour has no place in the police service.

“Attention of the @IG_NPS has been drawn to a video clip circulating on social media of a drunk, armed and uniformed police officer harassing innocent members of the public. Laikipia County Police Commander is taking administrative action against the officer. Such irresponsible and criminal behavior has no place within the @NPSOfficial_KE,” read the statement.

In the video, the said officer who was drunk and in full uniform is seen harassing some civilians purporting that they were selling bhang.

Shockingly the Administration Police Officer reportedly attached to Nanyuki Police Station was trying to use his AK47 riffle to threaten innocent citizens.

Were Philip: Drunk in uniform and on duty fully armed God forbid. Why attack women in the community and threaten them? A big problem that needs IG’s attention.
