Raila has responded to claims that he is stingy and has not been able to donate any money to help the country fight COVID-19 pandemic.

The former premier said that he has always participated in several donations and he has always acted with no pressure.

“I have been donating a lot in my life ever since, the current pressure is unnecessary, when the right time shall come I will donate when I want.” He said

Raila has been facing the public pressure for his silence and luck of remorse to help fight Corona Virus even as several leaders donate hugs sums of money.

Several Kenya Billionaires and leaders across the globe has given a hand to Kenyans

Chinese billionaire Jack Ma, the co-founder of e-commerce multinational Alibaba had donated a total of 1.1 million testing kits, 6 million masks and 60,000 medical use protective suits and face shields to Africa.

The donations was shipped to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from where they were distributed.

This comes as efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19 gather pace worldwide. The Alibaba Group Founder has stressed the importance of Africa staying one step ahead of the pandemic, which has continued to ravage countries across the globe.

“We cannot ignore the potential risk to Africa and assume this continent of 1.3 billion people will blissfully escape the crisis,” said the statement Ma posted on his Twitter account.

Kenyan billionaire Raval donates entire salary from Egerton University.

Kenyan steel billionaire Narendra Raval, who was recently appointed as Egerton University Chancellor, will work at the campus for free.

On a social media post on Tuesday, Raval said his entire salary, any allowance or financial benefit will go to supporting needy students at the university.

Raval, 55, replaced Prof. Shem Wandiga whose tenure ended in March this year.

The business mogul has a vast business empire that spans five sectors including aviation.

They include Devki Steel Mills Limited, National Cement Company Limited ( Simba Cement), Maisha Mabati Mills Ltd and others.

Raila said that he will donate when the situation turns worse.
