Football Kenya Federation premier league fixture featuring arch-rivals Gor Mahia against AFC Leopards would be free of charge for the fans seeking to watch the game at Nyayo national stadium.

The return game which doubles up as exhibition match for Madaraka Day celebrations comes three weeks after the first leg which was played at Kasarani stadium ending in a 1-1 draw.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga are expected to attend the game, with the former subsequently hosting both teams for state banquet at State House.

The head of state will use Wednesday’s tie as an opportunity to hand over the Sh24 million he promised the two clubs during the Mashemeji Derby played on May 8.

The winner of the Madaraka Cup will go home with Sh1 million, while the runners up will get Sh500,000.

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards have met 94 times with K’Ogalo winning 33 encounters and AFC Leopards securing 28 victories. The other 29 clashes have ended in draws.

AFC Leopards have not beaten Gor Mahia in the last six years. In this season’s league, Gor Mahia won the first leg 1-0, while the second leg ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
