“The curtain falls on me today as I begin a chapter.”

Media personality Jalang’o, real name Felix Odiwuor, hosted his last show this morning in a bid to vie for a political seat. Bidding his fans goodbye, he announced that he was officially heading out on the campaign trail to contest for the Langata Member of Parliament seat.

In 2021, Jalang’o announced his interest in politics saying, “I am going to be the next MP for Langata. Youth change your votes. Come and vote for us to build a new Langata. I am campaigning for myself.”

Announcing his exit this morning, the comedian expressed gratitude to his fans and employer while also describing his decision as a calling.

“…This is a clarion call for me to go try my hand in a different profession in murky, unchartered waters; something I’ve dreamt of and wanted to be to try and make a difference in people’s lives…to try and be a different kind of leader,” he said this morning.

Jalang’o is not the only radio host to exit radio this week, on Tuesday, KBC anchor and Radio Taifa Zinga host announced his exit in the interest of becoming the next Kitui Central Member of Parliament.
