Just over two hours apart, two brothers became first-time fathers.
On Easter Monday, George Robinson and Hayley Bocking had son Oliver James, a few days before Joe and Ellie Robinson welcomed Reginald Geoffrey.
The Redditch siblings described it as “wonderful.”
Ami Turner, a midwife at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, was present at both births.
Baby Oliver arrived at 06:05 BST, weighing 8lb 3oz (3.6kg), on his due date, while Reginald arrived at 03:48 BST, five days early, weighing 7lb 13oz (3.2kg).
With their older brother Tom expecting his first kid in September, the brothers, who work together at a tree surgery firm, are ready to become uncles once more later this year.
Joe explained, “We were there to encourage each other.”
“The medical staff were perplexed by it; we were constantly asked who we were and why we were there together, because guests were not permitted.
“They couldn’t believe it when we told them we were brothers and both of our partners were in labor.”
“We hope they will be best of friends,” Ms Bocking, the new mother, continued. “I think they will be little terrors.”
Ms Turner was the principal midwife for Oliver’s birth and aided midwife Emma Bentley with Reginald’s birth.
She stated, ” “It was incredible to be a part of both births in the same family on the same day.
“It was simply too amazing an event to pass up, and it was the best way to celebrate my own birthday.”
