Joyce Chepkemoi and  Samuel Chebolei win national cross country titles in Eldoret

Joyce Chepkemoi and  Samuel Chebolei were crowned winners of the women’s and men’s 10km races during the national cross country championship held in Lobo, Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

Chebolei who was participating in the national cross country meet for the first time won the 10km race in 29:28.9

Kennedy Kiprop finished second after clocking 29:35.2 as Vincent Kiprotich finished third in 30 minutes .6 seconds.

In the women’s category Joyce Chepkomoi beat a strong field to win the race in 34 minutes as Margaret Chelimo wound up second in 34:1.8 ,Celphine Chespol wound up third on her return to action after a one year hiatus in 34. 23:3.

Benson Kiplagat and Faith Cherotich from South Rift , won the under 20 year men’s and women’s category respectively.

Kiplagat won the boy’s 8km race in 24:8 secs, as Samuel Kibathi finished second in 24.16:9. Raynind Kipkorir from South Rift wound up third after finishing timing 24:21.4.
