JUST IN: Genuine Talai Elders to curse fake elders for installing DP as Kingpin

The genuine Talai El;ders tasked with responsibility of throning the Kalenjin community Kingpin says they will curse the fake elders who coronated the DP as Kalenjin community leader. This comes just days after a faction within the Talai Council of Elders distanced itself from the coronation, saying it was dome according to the required customs.

This section, led by Stephen Sugut claimed the ceremony was carried out by young men contrary to the traditions. They also noted that the young men who conducted the ceremony did not consult the Kalenjin elders and declared the whole ritual illegal.Among the anomalies that they pointed, during the ceremony honey was used contrary to the traditions.

“We are not against the coronation that was done at Kapsisiywa, but we are against the way in which it was executed for instance, there should be no use of honey when the leader is dressed with the Sambut,” Sugut told local media.

Last week, The Talai Council of Elders refuted reports claiming that Deputy President William Ruto visited them early Friday morning for a traditional cleansing as well as seeking special powers to stop the ongoing onslaught in Jubilee Party leadership.
