Kenyan singer Otile Brown might be a king of RnB in the making if the rave reviews from his album, Just in Love, are anything to go by. Released on June 3 exclusively on Boomplay, Just in Love was on July 13 ranked among the top five streamed new albums on Audiomack and boasts over a million streams.
The chart-topping masterpiece comes in after his debut album Best Of Otile Brown (2017) and consists of 10 songs that feature some of the region’s A-list stars such as Tanzania’s Juma Jux, Kenya’s Mejja and Khaligraph Jones, Burundi’s Kidum as well as Meddy from Rwanda.
Not one to miss a beat, the Alivyonipenda hitmaker two days ago released another collaboration with rapper Jackson ‘CMB Prezzo’ Makini dubbed Ndagukunda.
The song is a soulful follow-up to the critically acclaimed Dusuma that featured fast-rising songbird, Meddy. Popular on TikTok, Dusuma soared under the hashtag #dusumachallenge and garnered over a million views on YouTube in under a week.
Commenting on the album’s success the singer noted that he worked hard, especially in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, to present his fans with a richly diverse album that they would love. It does not end there. Taking to Instagram on August 4, Otile disclosed that a Just in Love show is coming soon.
