Kabogo wonders how terror suspects grew beard in one week

William Kabogo, the former Kiambu Governor  has questioned how the Kamiti prison fugitive terror convicts could have grown beards in just one week from the much-publicised escape from prison.

Mr Kabogo wondered how fast the hair could have grown since convicts are always clean-shaven.

“These guys were in Kamiti maximum prison as convicts 5 days ago? If so, they must have the fastest growing beard,” Kabogo pondered.

Some prisons believe that inmates can hide contraband in their long hair, so they have implemented rules about hair length. 

The three terror suspects, Musharaf Abdalla Akhulunga alias Shukri, Mohamed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Adhiambo alias Yusuf were arrested by Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) in Kitui on Thursday, November 18.

Their escape on the night of November 14, 2021, led to the sacking of prison boss Wycliffe Ogallo who was swiftly replaced by Rtd Brigadier
