Kabras Sugar Rugby Club maintained their top spot at the 2021-2022 Kenya Cup standings after registering their third straight win of the new campaign over the weekend.
The sugar millers thrashed Mwamba 46-17 where in the process picked their third bonus point win that saw them take their tally of the season to 15 points.
Kenya Sevens new star Kevin Wekesa was the Man of the Match after scoring two tries and finishing the match with the highest work rate both defensively and offensively.
At the same time, Strathmore Leos and Menengai Oilers also picked the third winning bonus point of the season.
Leos, captained by Kenya Simbas Gabriel Odero, defeated Impala 22-12 as Oilers saw off Nondies.
The wins saw both clubs amass 15 points same as Kabras Sugar. However, the sugar men remain top of the standings following a superior point differential of 103.
Strathmore Leos with a point differential of 49 are second on the log while Oilers with a point differential of 48 are placed third.
Kenya Harlequin also picked their third win of the season after ending Masinde Muliro University’s unbeaten run.
However, the former Kenya Cup champions are fourth after failing to pick a winning bonus and have 13 points.
Reigning champions KCB Rugby are fifth with nine points after picking a winning bonus-point against Nakuru RFC.
MMUST dropped a place down to sixth after their first loss of the season.
Blak Blad rose 11th to seventh on the log after their first win of the season which was against Homeboyz.
Mwamba Rugby Club and Homeboyz have a point while Impala Saracens, Nondies and Nakuru RFC who are winless have no points.
