Kakamega women rep plans to join Ruto camp – Weekly Citizen

Kakamega county woman representative Elsie Muhanda is now gearing towards William Ruto team Tanga Tanga if her recent moves are anything to go by.
The woman representative who is facing a lot of resistance within her Orange Democratic Movement party on which she was elected after it was discovered that she was secretly courting Ruto has now decided to be in the open with her close associates posting photos of her and the deputy president.

In the recent past, Muhanda could not dare attend functions attended by the team but that is now a thing of the past as she now dines and wines with the DP and spends time with them.
In her party, Muhanda is embroiled in a bitter fight with nominated senator Naomi Shiyonga who has since declared that she will go for the woman representatives position and fear is she may lose in primaries due to her dwindling support as she is being messed up by her staff in the who have been on several occasions accused of demanding for bribes to offer services to various groups including loans that has trickled protests all over the county with some areas staging demonstrations.
She also fears that the influence Shiyonga has in the corridors of the party and her deep pockets as she is able to oil her campaigns well is not to go easy scenario.
Shiyonga is being seen as the front runner in the race that has seen more than three candidates declare interest, among them, Khadija Nganyi who was recently arrested in connection with conning women groups in harambee money.
Gender chief adviser in the office of the governor of Kakamega Peninah Mukabane has also indicated she will vie.

Atwoli

A source close to the team said apart from the Cotu secretary Francis Atwoli sponsoring the Embrace function that was held at Bukhungu Stadium recently in which he attended, Ruto also parted with millions of shillings via Muhanda as the county governor Wycliffe Oparanya who is ODM deputy party leader also gave a cash contribution.
It is worth noting that Atwoli and Ruto do not see eye-to-eye as he has even in public been quoted as saying Ruto will never be president leave alone being on the presidential ballot.

Muhanda who hails from shinyalu constituency where she is married and but was born in the neighbouring Ikolomani constituency.
It is believed that Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali might have brokered a deal for her to meet the DP with assurance that she will support him and Shinali who at the same time declared interest for Kakamega county gubernatorial position and has been her close friend.
Recently, at a meeting presided over by her supporters that turned rowdy after a supporter of Kakamega county deputy governor Phillip Kutima was ejected allegedly under her instructions to appease Shinali whom she is silently supporting, did not go down well.
