Police officers in Kakamega town are investigating circumstance under which a 42-year-old man died at a local lodging on the night of Tuesday, June 23.

According to officer commanding Kakamega central police division David Kabena, the deceased identified as Munala had checked into the facility in the company of a woman.

It was the said woman, Anyango, a resident of Siaya county who alerted the lodging management of the incident on the following morning, K24 TV reported.

“The two ordered dinner before leaving for their room at Amazon Hotel. It was only the lady who ate,” the police boss explained.

Records at the facility showed the 31-year-old woman checked in on the afternoon and proceeded to book a room at the hotel where they spent the night.

However, the blissful moment took an ugly twist when Anyango tapped her man who was unresponsive and could not wake up to prepare for breakfast.

The distraught woman then stormed out of the room and informed one of the managers who called in police officers.

The officers took the body to Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue for a postmortem which revealed Munala died from heart attack.

The deceased was reportedly married and had a family.
