Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that the last thing he will do in the run-up to the August General Election is to throw his weight behind ODM leader Raila Odinga again.

Speaking this morning at the SKM Command Centre in Nairobi, the former Vice-President reiterated that he is not foolish to back the former Premier for the third time.

Kalonzo played second fiddle for Raila in both the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections.

He challenged the opposition leader to return the favour by honouring the pact signed by parties that formed by the defunct National Super Alliance (Nasa).

Sharing details of the Nasa Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Kalonzo noted that Raila committed to supporting him whether his presidential materialised or not.

“In the articles of agreement, principal H (Raila Odinga) agrees in a public MOU to serve for one term and publicly endorse principal Q (Kalonzo Musyoka) as the presidential candidate,” he said.

While he said he has no problem working with Raila again, Kalonzo maintained that he must return the favour.

“My brother Raila has the option of abiding by our legal agreement or choosing to act in utter defiance of the agreement compounding the trust deficit. In both cases, he remains a brother and I am ready to work with him again,” he stated.

In addition, he revealed that he intentionally skipped ODM national delegates conference (NDC) at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday because attending the meeting would have been interpreted that he agrees with the convention on Raila’s candidature.

On President Uhuru Kenyatta’s endorsement of the ODM chief, Kalonzo says the Head of State did so in his personal capacity.’

“Just like Raila was endorsed by ODM and I was endorsed by Wiper, but (Uhuru’s) Jubilee did not endorse any candidate.”

“I am very prayerful but I think I need help. I promise the country will see a different Kalonzo.”
