Wiper Democratic Movement Leader Hon Kalonzo Musyoka is pleading with Kenyans to let Mzee Mwai Kibaki rest in peace and stop the debate on why he (Kalonzo) did not get a chance to eulogise his former boss during his final send-off in Nyayo Stadium and Othaya.
Kalonzo says he had the rear opportunity to serve with Kibaki as his principal assistant and that was enough and Kenyans know what they were able to deliver together as a team for the five years.
The Wiper Leader says it was within the rights of the organizers of the burial to ask whoever they wished to, to eulogise Kibaki but his deeds and simplicity is in the hearts of all Kenyans.
He further noted that Kibaki wanted simple life and thus we should respect and honour him by not politicising his final send-off which had all the honours and dignity.
The issue of the Wiper Leader not being given an opportunity to eulogise Kibaki who he served with in his last term as his Vice President has elicited a huge debate across the county and even taking political direction all together
Kalonzo made the remarks Tuesday when he attended the burial of Mzee Michael Mutuku Nduto, father to Masinga Constituency Wiper Candidate Eng. David Mutuku (DM) in Masinga.
Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, Anthony Muheria had earlier revealed that the family of the late President Mwai Kibaki did not wish for political speeches in the funeral service held at Nyayo stadium thus not according Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka the chance to speak.
The archbishop affirmed that they gave the fallen leader a befitting sendoff that went according to the family’s wish.
