Radio presenter Michelle Kamene Goro has revealed that she has never boarded a matatu since she was born.

The radio queen who hosts a show dubbed ‘the Morning Kiss’ alongside Jalang’o AKA Jalas stated that she was going to take her first matatu ride today, on November 12, 2021. The reason behind this ‘bold move’ was because the matatu she says she will board has graffiti of her face at its backside. Otherwise, she was going to take a private ride as usual.

“This night I will be walking in a nganya, going to Switch, Kasarani. My mathree is on that route, for the first time in my life I am going to board a matatu. One that has my face,” exited Kamene Goro said.

Astonished Jalas inquired why she has never boarded a matatu when it is one of the main transport means used by Kenyans as they undertake their daily duties but Kamene was quick to give a simple response.

“Going where?” Kamene responded

Reflecting on his own life and comparing it with Kamene’s life experiences about matatus, Jalas said that he has been a loyal customer of matatus as he used to board the when going and returning from work. He pointed out that his interactions with Matatus and people in the matatu industry enabled him to know all corners of Nairobi.

“Matatus know me by name, 17 D Mwiki, 1960 Kayole, 15 Langata, 58 Buruburu, 11 South C, Kitengela 110,” he shared.

Jalas further disclosed that her fellow presenter at Classic 105 Maina Kageni took his last ride on a matatu in 1995.
