Controversial politician and self-crowned youth president, Karen Nyamu, has already declared her interests in the Nairobi Senatorial seat in the oncoming 2022 General Elections.

The mother of two who was among women representative aspirants in 2017 will be seeking to replace the current Senator Johnson Sakaja who has since declared interests in the Nairobi gubernatorial race.

The declaration by Sakaja opens an avenue for Karen Nyamu, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, singer Rufftone (Roy Smith Mwatia), and ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna to contest for Nairobi senatorship.

Nyamu has forewarned her adversaries that they should watch out since she has some huge political biceps and she is not going to lose easily.

“Last time I vied for women Representative but I missed it narrowly but this time we are going to get it. I have been pregnant before and I worked till the last day, Campaign is just like work.”

She has assured Nairobi residents to expect the wind of change when she ascends to power, pointing out that the major problem that the county faces is corruption as the Nairobians fail to see developments despite the county having huge revenue bases.

“I will make sure Nairobians feel the impact of the services of the Nairobi government. So that we do not get short-changed.

Nairobi gets a large share of revenue and we collect a lot of money from the various revenue platforms but we do not feel the impact of that money.”

When asked whether her baby daddy, Mugithi musician Samidoh, will join her during campaigns, she affirmed that campaigns are avenues for selling agenda and the performance by artists is optional.

“I do not need artists to perform in my campaigns. He is the father of my kids and he is my friend. I consult him a lot as he understands people and he is very smart.

His party affiliation is not UDA, so unless that changes, but I do not think I will have any artists performing.”
