Kenya Confirms 101 New Covid-19 Cases, Tally Rises to 321,355

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has announced 101 new Covid-19 cases from 3,923 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s caseload to 321,355.

The cumulative number of samples tested so far stands at 3,220,562. The country’s positivity rate is at 2.6 per cent.

From the new cases announced today, 30th January, 95 are Kenyans and six are foreigners. Out of these, 54 are males and 47 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old baby while the oldest is 99.

Some 542 patients have recovered from the disease, 432 from the home-based care programme, while 110 have been discharged from various hospitals countrywide. The total number of recoveries now stands at 294,615.

Sadly, two patients succumbed, bringing the death toll to 5,580.

At total of 452 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities across the country, while another 4,690 are in home-based isolation and care.

At the same time, 17 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and all of them in ventilatory support.

Another 94 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 91 admitted in general wards and three in High Dependency Unit (HDU).
