Kenya: Former Mt Elgon MP John Serut Dies of Cancer

Nairobi — Former Mount Elgon Member of Parliament John Serut has died after a long illness.

According to his daughter Michelle, Serut succumbed to cancer at the Nairobi Hospital at 3.45am on Wednesday.

He represented Mt Elgon for two terms; from 2002 to 2007 before he lost to Fred Kapondi in the subsequent election.
