Kenya Rugby Team Pooled in Favourable Group D of Malaga Leg

Kenya Rugby Sevens team Shujaa is in a favourable Pool D for the third round of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Malaga Spain from 21st to 23rd January 2022.

Shujaa have been grouped with Canada, France and Wales.

Pool A will feature Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallists, Fiji, Dubai champions South Africa, England and Scotland.

Malaga will see the return of 2020 Series winners and Olympic silver medallists New Zealand who will face Australia, Ireland and Japan in Pool B, while hosts Spain will take on USA, Samoa and Argentina in Pool C.

Shujaa will be seeking to improve their performance having performed poorly at the opening two legs of the series held in December in Dubai where Kenya collected a total of 22 points to finish 8th on the standings.

Here is the full list of groups:

Pool A: England, Fiji, South Africa, Scotland
Pool B: Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Japan
Pool C: USA, Spain, Samoa, Argentina
Pool D: Kenya, Canada, France, Wales
