Veteran Kenyan actor Pete Openda is dead. Pete died on 6th/06/2020 just four days after celebrating his birthday. The cause of his death remains unclear.
According to a tribute by the Kenya Actors Guild, Pete passed away as if he stepped into the new year of his life and decided to have it elsewhere.
Taking to their social media page Kenya actors guild wrote
‘If you heard this man speak, you’d never forget his voice. And he talked a lot… in an ‘I have something useful to say’ way.
He was marketer in the publishing industry where he ran a bunch of teams over the years ( he was an MC at most publishing industry events – this is actually how I first heard him speak, during some event he was MCeeing at KICD -the curriculum development body- some event about book piracy in Kenya).’

‘Openda talked because he had something useful to say. And when he spoke, he was on point, always.
He talked on radio (KBC – where he hosted a jazz show), talked on TV productions (several of them) where he was, depending the hat he wore at that production ; a producer or actor or part of the writing team.
