CS Kagwe has announced 11 more confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Kenya, raising the country’s official toll to 208.
While detailing the patients’ ages, the ministry appealed to the public to adhere to the government’s directive on preventing spread of the disease.
CS Kagwe said that all the patients that tested positive for the virus are between 1 to 42 years.
“Looking at age distribution, the coronavirus disease is affecting the more productive members of our society. This means we need to take charge and observe the interventions put in place,” she said.
CS Kagwe noted that all the 11 people who tested positive have had history of travelling in United Kingdom and Sudi Arabia.
He said that among the 11 who has tested positive, Mandera has 4, Mombasa 3, Naiorbi 2, Nakuri 1 and finally Machakos has one new reported cases.
So far Mandera has confirmed 6 cases, which has raised a lot of questions if they can really cope up with the situation, since they have very poor medical facilities.
In a press release today CS Kagwe said that 4 cases who tested positive for the Corona virus are from mandatory quarantine.
He also said that he is impressed with the improvement and recovery of some patients, 14 more people have been discharged from hospital after they successfully tested negative from the Corona Virus.
15 people have recovered from the virus putting the total to 40 Kenyans who have fully recovered.
619 contacts being traced so far according to CS for testing.
Kenya’s cabinet secretary for health, Mutahi Kagwe, has cautioned: “We are praying and hoping for the best, but clearly we must also prepare for the worst. And mentally we must prepare ourselves to face an insurmountable situation.”
Regarding the controversial burial that took place in Siaya, CS Magoha said that the government did that to protect the interest of close family members and that of the villagers.
