A Kenyan healthcare worker has been arraigned in court for allegedly producing fake Covid-19 certificates.
Appearing before Chief Magistrate Sinkiyian Tobiko at the Milimani Law Courts on Thursday, Delvine Enock Moses was charged with several counts of uttering a false document.
Delvine, a nurse stationed at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), was charged alongside Samwel Shikanda Alukwe—a hotelier.
The charge sheet read that the two made a false document, namely a Covid-19 test report purporting it to be a genuine document issued by KNH. They are accused of committing the said offense at KNH’s infectious unit on July 5th, 2020.
Separately, Delvine faced 29 counts of forging Covid-19 results for over 20 patients, an offense he allegedly committed at High Rise Estate in Ngumo, Nairobi County.
Delvine and Samwel pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them and were released on Sh150,000 and 50,000 cash bail respectively.
