Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has come out guns blazing in defence of embattled Chief Justice David Maraga over claims he is a deadbeat father.
The second term Jubilee lawmaker said the allegations against the CJ that he sired a child out of wedlock with a woman identified as Mary Onyancha was sponsored by the so called deep state.

In a tweet on Tuesday, June 30, Murkomen said the CJ and the Judiciary must be respected.
“Kwamboka and her sponsors did a very bad job. Deep state with shallow strategy. The CJ and Judiciary must be respected,”he said.
Onyancha who is demanding KSh 160,000 from the CJ in monthly upkeep had on Tuesday, June 30, caused drama outside the Milimani Law Courts as she claimed she had been barred from filing a suit against the Supreme Court president.
“I met Maraga in 2013 when we became friends and had an affair. Now, I have a six-year-old daughter. I have been filing cases every now and then. He was even summoned by the children’s department and he refused to honour. I just want him to come and take responsibility for the child. I am tired,” she said.

The head of the Judiciary however, through his lead lawyer Danstan Omari rubbished the allegations as he poked holes in the originality of the birth certificate presented by the complainant terming it fake and generic.
“There is no registrar of births by the name Shamwati in the whole country. Neither has there been an officer called NP Otieno in the Nairobi office which means the certificate is generated,” Omari said.

Murkomen’s tweet sparked conversations on Twitter:
“What’s the hurry for to prosecute in the public court? Why not for a date in the real court an present the findings?,”Sidney Samawati posed.
@PoliticalGeni15: “Deep State Using that strategy to make sure Maraga retires before his time ends.”
Frank Mtetezi: “For the First time I agree with you. In 2013 Maraga was 67 years old while the purported wealth inheriter lady Mary Kwamboka was 23 years , to make matters worse Maraga as a church Elder couldn’t dare step such low for goodies , Never !.”
