Citizen TV entertainment show presenter Willis Raburu was today, 5th August, waxing nostalgic about how he began his media career. Taking to his social media platforms, the father of one shared a photo of a skinnier him on his maiden assignment.
Raburu revealed that the first daring step he took was to cover the ‘Rite of Passage’ feature story on initiation in the Maasai community that established his career.
“This picture means so much to me. I was an intern and we broke protocol, of course, with permission from my mentor and then boss @opondopeter to go and cover the story, ‘Rite of Passage’. This is the story that launched my career in media,” recalled.

Raburu said that had he and his friends not taken the risk 11 years ago, he wouldn’t be where he is today. He advised young people to be bold and take risks as they seek to be unique in everything, while praying, too.

“Together with @sshitera and @mohamedmahmudm, we did our best because we knew all eyes were on us. We took a risk, 11 years later by the grace of God, we are still here, growing daily. God is truly amazing. Take the risk, do what others are not, be good or be good at it, pray and work. Successful people look like you. Bazu!” Raburu wrote.
